I’m a huge fan of the tennis skirt trend right now! They’re just so flattering on and personally, I think they look way cuter than regular athletic shorts. I always feel so confident and feminine when I’m wearing one!
This Summer, I’ve tried on and returned A LOT of tennis and golf skirts. I have high standards when it comes to quality and comfort – so here are the best of tennis skirts for 2022!

In terms of affordability, I will say that typically the more you spend on a skirt (to an extent), the better quality you can expect. I played tennis all through high school so I’ve owned a lot of skirts, and I think the sweet spot is around $40-60. I definitely wouldn’t spend over $70 for a skirt.

I’m in love with their entire Tennis Edit, but their Match Point skirt is definitely my fave. It has a logo elastic waistband with built-in shorts and pockets! SO flattering on, but it runs shorter so just keep that in mind!
Amazon Pleated Tennis Skirt
This is the number one bestselling tennis skirt on Amazon (it has over 7,500 5-star Amazon reviews). This pleated skirt is high waisted and hugs your stomach, which makes it so flattering! Great length – not too long, not too short and it comes in over 20 different colors and prints.
Pink Lily Potential Energy Active Skirt
So so cute and fits true to size! I wear an XS. This is the perfect athleisure skirt – wear it while running errands, heading to brunch with the girls or to a workout class. You can even pair this skirt with a graphic tee and some sneakers for a cute athletic look!
Outdoor Voices The Exercise 3″ Skort
LOVE LOVE LOVE this exercise skirt from Outdoor Voices. It’s so comfortable and literally the perfect length. I like my athletic skirts to be a little bit on the shorter side and this one is perfect!
It has two side pockets on the inner shorts which are deep enough to fit your phone and then one zippered pocket on the left side of the skirt for small items. If I had to rank the skirts, this is definitely one of the best skirts in terms of fit, quality and comfort!
Amazon High Waisted Tennis Skirt
The quality of this Amazon skirt is incredible! The material is nice and thick – it’s not see-through at all, and has with breathable, stretchy fabric! It also has built-in mesh shorts and a silicone liner so they don’t ride up. And if you’re someone that likes a skirt with pockets, this one has A TON to hold your tennis balls, cell phone, credit card and more.
In terms of sizing, it fits a bit tighter, so if you’d prefer a looser fit, size up one! I personally like a tighter fit for my activewear just because I think it’s more flattering, so I kept my regular size.
Aerie OFFLINE Pleated Tennis Skirt
Last time I was at Aerie, I think I tried on all of their women’s tennis skirts and this one was definitely my favorite! I love the lightweight fabric and pleated design – it’s super trendy! I own one of their tennis dresses too and I get so many compliments when I wear it!

Currently on sale for $49 and the white and black are fully stocked in all sizes. The skirt is designed for running and working out, so the fabric is super lightweight and moisture wicking.
Amazon High Waisted Pleated Skirt
Such a GOOD tennis skirt and it’s under $30! It’s a total dupe for the lululemon Pace Revival skirt and to be honest I like it better. It comes in so many fun, vibrant colors (I love the hot pink) and it stays in place while you’re working out/playing tennis! I recommend sticking with your regular size.
Athleta Run With It 14″ Skort
This is your classic white tennis skirt perfect for tennis, golf, or pickleball. Such a great length and it’s so cute and sporty! There are only a few color options to choose from, but if you’re just looking for white or black, it’s not a big deal. I also really like that it’s wrinkle resistant!
How to Style a Tennis Skirt
One of the things that I love about tennis skirts is that there are so many different ways to style them! Hitting the tennis court or golf course? Style your skirt with one of these cropped tanks or a sleeveless fitted polo for more of an athletic fit. If you want a more casual look, throw on your favorite crewneck or graphic tee and tuck it into the front of your skirt with some everyday sneakers.
For a preppy look, pair a white pleated golf skirt with a cropped collared shirt or sweater vest. And lastly for an elevated night out look, pair a black, high waisted short skirt with a matching cropped tank and blazer! There are seriously so many ways to style your classic tennis skirt!
