We’ve been using them for over six months now and my only regret is not finding these sooner. They’re so convenient, especially living in an apartment, because they take up virtually no space and they’re so easy to use. I’ll talk more about this later!

Why We Love Them
Before I started researching non toxic and sustainable laundry detergent options, I actually had never heard of laundry detergent sheets . Isn’t that crazy!? I’m sure there’s some of you reading that also had no idea this was a thing. Maybe it’s because I’ve never seen them in stores before? I don’t know. But, I wanted to write this post and share these with you because they’re SO useful.
Zero plastic waste and safe ingredients
For one, I really love that they use safe ingredients and are plastic free. Those were the two main reasons I started looking for a new detergent in the first place. So many traditional laundry detergents contain harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances that can irritate skin and cause health problems. Beyond’s Laundry detergent sheets reduce our plastic use and overall are much kinder to the enviroment.
Great for Apartment and College Living
If you live in an apartment, you know that space is limited. You don’t typically have a full laundry room or huge space for laundry. At least I know we don’t! Thankfully we have a washer and dryer in our unit. But, they’re in a small closet, which doesn’t give us much space to store all our cleaners, ironing board, etc.
With these detergent sheets, they’re so lightweight (96% lighter than traditional laundry detergent jugs) and take up minimal space, so you can store them anywhere. We keep a few packs right next to our washer and they actually fit nicely into this magnetic container which you can place on the side of your washing machine.
We can take them on Vacation
It is so nice to be able to take these with us when we go on weekend trips or longer vacations. They’re not messy or sticky and they pack nicely into a suitcase or weekender bag. Also, unlike detergent pods, we don’t have to worry about them bursting!
For any sports parents out there, if you travel a lot for your kid’s tournaments, these are great to take with you for washing uniforms, socks, knee pads, etc.
Great for Hand Washing Items
There are a few delicates and clothing items that I prefer to hand wash. All I do is dissolve one strip in a bin of water and rinse the item. It’s very simple and I like that I’m never guessing how much detergent to use or worrying about getting my hands sticky.
How to Use Laundry Detergent Strips
This is why I love using detergent sheets, they are SO easy to use. All you do is tear off one to two strips, throw in the washer, add your clothes and start the wash cycle. That’s IT! No measuring out detergent, no guesswork and no mess.
For a small load of laundry, use one strip (there are four strips in one laundry detergent sheet). For larger loads of laundry, it’s recommended to use two. When you start using the strips, you’ll start to get a better idea of when to use one versus two.
It’s seriously so easy and if you’re someone who has younger kids at home, this is an easy way to teach them how to do the laundry without worrying about them spilling the liquid detergent or making a mess.
Why Choose Beyond Laundry Detergent Sheets over Conventional Laundry Detergent
At this point, I think you know I’m a huge fan of these detergent sheets LOL. There are just so many pros – they’re space saving, lightweight, perfect for traveling, plastic-free, require no measuring, they’re not messy and are great for even the most sensitive skin.
Personally, I’ve never loved the conventional liquid laundry detergents. The plastic jugs are bulky and heavy, they contain a lot of synthetic ingredients and aren’t very portable. Beyond’s laundry detergent packs weigh only 3.3oz, which also means less transportation pollution!
But how effective are they?
When I shared these a few months ago, I had a few of you ask how effective they were at cleaning clothes. I know some of you were worried that you wouldn’t get that same “clean laundry” smell.
