Where to Shop for Bridal Shower Outfits for Guest
Before we get into the outfits, I wanted to share a few of my favorite retailers to shop for bridal shower dresses. The majority of my dresses that you’ve probably seen me wear on Instagram either come from Lulus or Abercrombie. They have a large selection of casual and formal dresses for every occasion! The sizing is pretty consistent too and most items have a lot of reviews, so it’s easy to see how the items would fit.
I also like to check out VICI, Nordstrom, and ASTR The Label. Right now ASTR has THE most beautiful floral maxi dresses. They’re all absolutely gorgeous, but a little bit pricier.
Now, let’s get into the Bridal Shower Outfit Ideas!
Lilac Floral Tiered Maxi Dress
This is the perfect bridal shower dress. I have a few showers to attend this Spring and I cannot wait to wear this tiered floral maxi dress! It has adorable ruffle sleeves, a side slit and an optional tie waist! The material is very lightweight and delicate, with almost a glossy-like feel. Since the material is so delicate it does wrinkle easily, so I do recommend steaming it.
I’m wearing the XS and it fits true to size. I’m 5’6″ and it hits right at my ankles. Here I’m wearing a low pair of heels with it, but I could also wear it with flat shoes.

Sage Green Tie-Strap Midi Dress
This sage green midi dress is kind of similar to the last dress I shared, but the material is a bit thicker and the dress is a true midi length. It’s beyond flattering! I wore a very similar style (in white) for my bridal shower last year and it’s one of my favorite Spring dresses. The tie-straps on both sides make it easy to adjust and LOVE the tiers! Here, I’m wearing a size XS and it fits perfect!

Lilac Puff Sleeve Midi Dress
This lilac midi dress is from Abercrombie’s Emerson collection. This style has been one of their most popular dresses for a few years now and I always grab a new color whenever they release them! I’m in love with the fit, the style and the fabric. Abercrombie’s dresses are always high quality. I’m always so impressed and they hold up well over the years too no matter how many times I wear them.
In this dress, I’m wearing my true size, an XS, and it’s a perfect fit. I love that the material is thicker too, so you wouldn’t have to wear a bra since the top part of the dress really holds you in. But, I always like to add these reusable silicone covers underneath for a little support!

Light Green Floral Mini Dress
I wanted to include a mini dress option in this post as well! This light green floral satin mini is one of my favorites for a Spring event. It’s so pretty and versatile! You can easily add a white blazer or a cozy cardigan over if it’s cooler outside, and it’s great quality! The only thing to keep in mind is the straps are not adjustable and the fabric doesn’t have any stretch. So, sizing is important!
I’m wearing a size XS and it definitely is a little roomy on me, which I’m okay with. Other than that, it’s such a perfect Spring event dress. It comes in pink too!

How to Elevate your Bridal Shower Outfit
Once you’ve secured the perfect dress, it’s time to elevate your look with jewelry, shoes and accessories. I recently published a post sharing the top sandals and shoes for Spring & Summer. Mesh ballet flats and closed-toe kitten heels are SO popular right now.
When it comes to buying shoes for a more formal event, my go-to retailers are, Target, Dolce Vita, Sam Edelman and Steve Madden. I can always count on them to have super cute, high quality and on-trend shoes every season!
I’ll share a few shoe options below that I think would work well for any wedding showers, baby showers and/or outdoor events.
In terms of jewelry, Kendra Scott has the best options for classic, timeless and stylish pieces. These gold crystal hoop earrings are a personal favorite.
My Go-To Spring Bridal Shower Outfit: Floral Midi Dresses
When it comes to Spring bridal showers, my go-to outfit is always a floral midi dress. Based on the outfits I shared above, I’m sure you could’ve guessed this, but they’re so versatile! Floral midis can easily be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize, making them a great option for most bridal showers.
Why I Love Floral Midi Dresses for Bridal Showers:
- They have a feminine, effortless, and romantic feel – perfect for a bridal shower
- The midi length adds a touch of elegance while still being comfortable
- The floral print makes them a natural choice for Spring!
- You can easily dress them up or down to match the dress code
I always opt for a midi dress because they basically guarantee that you won’t need any alterations. You don’t have to worry about your dress being too short and uncomfortable AND you won’t have to worry about your dress being too long either. It’s a win-win in my opinion.
Here are some more midi-length floral dresses that would make the perfect bridal shower guest outfit.
How to Style Floral Midi Dresses Based on the Dress Code:
- Casual Bridal Shower: Pair your dress with some flat sandals, a woven tote, and minimal jewelry for a simple, yet put-together look.
- Semi-Formal Bridal Shower: Add a pair of low heels, your favorite statement earrings, and a nice clutch to elevate the outfit.
- Outdoor/Garden Party Bridal Shower: Opt for wedges (or shoes that won’t sink into the grass) and a cute sunhat for a romantic, daytime look!
If you’re ever unsure of what to wear to a Spring event, a midi dress is always a safe choice! I highly recommend having a few high quality, midi dresses in your closet. They truly make getting dressed for bridal showers, baby showers or Spring weddings so effortless.
Best Colors to Wear to a Spring Bridal Shower
If you’re attending a Spring bridal shower, baby shower, or wedding, it’s the perfect time to embrace all the soft, girly, & feminine vibes. Think floral patterns, light fabrics and romantic details! I’ll share a few of the best colors & patterns for the season below.
What Colors & Patterns to Wear:
- Soft Pastels – Think lilac purple, butter yellow, baby blue, soft pink, & sage green
- Floral Prints – When I think of Spring, I immediately think florals!
- Ruffles – Adds a soft, whimsical vibe to your outfit
- Lace – Lace accents instantly elevate & add a feminine touch to your dress
- Delicate Prints – mini polka dots, thin vertical stripes, and gingham in soft colors add a little interest to your outfit!
Colors to Avoid:
- White or Ivory – It’s a good idea to avoid any whites, off-whites, cream or ivory shades. I usually avoid any dresses with a white base as well (ie. white dress covered in colorful florals, etc.) I always like to play it safe with whites!
- Neon or Bright Colors – Super bright shades usually just don’t fit the vibe and can be somewhat tacky for a bridal shower in my opinion especially if the aesthetic is soft and romantic.
- Black (this may depend on the event’s theme) – For a black-tie wedding or formal event, black is perfect, but if you’re attending a Spring bridal shower and it doesn’t specifiy attire on the invite, I would avoid wearing black.
- Red or Anything Too Attention-Grabbing – Red is a very bold and stand-out color, so try to opt for colors that aren’t too flashy or overpowering. You don’t want to take the attention away from the bride!
