Benefits of Having a Hobby
I could go on and on about all the benefits of having hobbies! Hobbies are so good for the soul and for your overall well-being (physical and mental health). Hobbies can boost creativity, improve your focus, help you unplug from your phone, reduce stress and anxious feelings, inspire you develop new skills, and build your self-confidence. Most of all, they add more fun into your daily routine and give you something to look forward to.
Last month I took a beginner crochet class and now attend weekly crochet socials (when I can) and it’s been so fun practicing my crochet skills and meeting new people. Finding hobbies you truly enjoy can make everyday life feel more joyful, inspiring and fulfilling!

Become a Pilates Princess
It feels like pilates is the latest workout trend that all the girlies are loving – and for good reason! It’s low impact, strengthens your core and helps sculpt your body. I love that Pilates is an activity that you can do alone or try out with a friend! I actually signed up for an online monthly Pilates membership at the beginning of the year and have been loving it! Plus, who doesn’t love wearing a cute matching workout set?

Romanticize Reading
If you’re looking for a relaxing and calming hobby that you can do from anywhere, diving into a good book is the perfect option. I re-discovered my love for reading a few years ago and haven’t looked back. The key is finding a genre that you can’t put down. For me it’s thrillers or a light-hearted beach read! I highly recommend romanticizing your reading experience by choosing an aesthetic location. Head to your favorite coffee shop, your backyard garden, the beach or a local park!
If a few of your friends love reading as well, start your own book club! Pick an interesting book you all want to read, and schedule monthly get-togethers to discuss.
Learn How to Crochet
Listen to me when I say this – crocheting is NOT just for your grandma! Go to Pinterest right now and type in the phrase aesthetic crochet ideas. You’ll find the cutest projects: beach bags, bralettes, swim cover-up skirts, blankets, and stuffed animals! What sold me on crocheting, was this Instagram post of a crochet flower bouquet. I mean how beautiful?
I was immediately inspired to sign up for a beginner crochet class at my local library. It was completely free and by the end of the night I had learned a few different stitches!
Get Lost in a Puzzle
I want you to put on your favorite loungewear set, light a candle, and grab a cup of tea. You can even turn on some instrumental background music! And get lost in the joy of puzzling. The Galison puzzles are my favorite – they’re so aesthetic and girly! But, you can also check out puzzles from the library.
Not only is puzzling fun, but it’s an excellent way to calm your mind, reduce stress and boost your problem-solving skills, memory and focus!
Host Themed Dinner Parties
If you love bringing people together and creating curated experiences, hosting dinner parties for your girls might just be the perfect hobby for you. There’s so much that goes into being the ultimate host and if you’re new to it, take the time to learn all the little details that make an event memorable. Learn how to properly set a table, experiment with new recipes and drinks, shop for seasonal decor, design menus and place cards, and create the perfect ambiance
You can even make it a monthly tradition with your girlfriends! Take turns hosting and planning themed parties to match the seasonal trends. It’s so creative, fun, and such a great way to bond with your friends.

Create Dreamy Floral Arrangements
Floral arranging is so fun and having fresh flowers in your home is always a nice bonus! I first got into floral arranging a couple years ago and my sister, mom and I put together all the flower arrangements for my bridesmaids proposal dinner and bridal shower! We picked out all the flowers from Trader Joe’s and then mixed and matched them together to create beautiful bouquets!
Guided Meditation and Breathwork
The daily practice of meditation and breathwork is so transormative for your body and mind. I could honestly write an entire post about all the benefits, but I’ll just share a few here. Meditation and breathwork helps regulate your nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, improve sleep, lower cortisol, boost mental clarity and balance your emotions.
I started meditating about a month and a half ago and I do it every single morning after reading my devotional. I really love the YouTube channel, Breathe with Sandy. He has so many different meditations and breathing exercises ranging from 15 minutes to hours long. And the meditations are completely free!

Create Your Own Natural Cleaning & Home Essentials
Save money, get creative, and ditch the harsh chemicals by making your own natural cleaning products! DIYing your own home essentials is easier than you might think, and the best part? You have complete control over the ingredients you’re using and bringing into your space.
From multi-purpose sprays and glass cleaners to laundry detergents, room sprays, and hand soaps, most natural alternatives only require a few simple ingredients – like distilled water, white vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, or essential oils. It’s a fun and rewarding way to make your home smell amazing without the toxins. For exact recipes and inspiration, I love browsing Pinterest or TikTok!
Curate Cute Monthly & Seasonal Bucket Lists
This hobby is for all the girlies who love planning, organizing and creating to-do lists – I’m definitely one them! There’s something so satisfying about checking items off a to-do list. If you agree, then creating monthly and seasonal bucket lists will probably be your new favorite thing! You can do this digitally, or pair it with another hobby like drawing or watercolor painting to create a physical bucket list that you can display!
This is such a fun way to slow down, be present, and truly enjoy each season and month. And if you want to expand your lists, here are a few more list ideas to explore: restaurants to try, monthly self-care routines, cleaning schedules, travel itineraries, and more.

Create an Enchanted Fairy Garden
I was planning on adding gardening to this list of girly, fun hobbies, but I wanted to take it a step further and suggest creating your own fairy garden! If you’re wondering what a fairy garden even is, it’s basically a miniature garden filled with whimiscal accessories, small plants, and tiny fairy-inspired decorations. You can craft diy pebbled pathways, add charming little fairy houses, and even string some delicate twinkle lights around the scene to really bring it to life.
I already have so many ideas for my garden! I just need to decide on the perfect pot or planter!
Get Creative with DIY Nail Art
Tap into your creative side with at-home nail art! If you’re a girlie who loves a fresh manicure with fun prints and designs, this might be a great hobby to do in your free time. With a simple set of nail pens from Amazon, you can create endless designs – just search Pinterest for some inspo!
This nail pen set is under $10 and comes with 12 different colors, making it super affordable to experiment at-home. And if you’re into florals like I am, these adhesive nail stickers are perfect for a Spring & Summer manicure!
Take Local Craft Classes to Discover your Creative Spark!

You can find classes ranging from drawing, painting, creative writing, pottery.. There’s all sorts of classes you can sign up for and they’re usually very inexpensive! This is a great way to experiment with a variety of crafts without going all in on one right away!

Design Custom Air Dry Clay Magnets
Did you enjoy playing with clay and play-doh when you were younger? I remember having so many different fun play-doh kits and making clay spaghetti and ice cream. It was so fun! Re-ignite that passion and creativity with creating custom air dry clay magnets. There are so many cute things you can make – little fruits and food items, flowers, cute postage stamps – how adorable are these!?
Become a Ninja Creami Queen
The absolute perfect hobby for anyone who loves a sweet treat! I’m going to be honest, we got our Ninja Creami as a wedding gift almost a year ago and still need to figure out how to use it. It’s on my list of things to do! I’ve seen SO many delicious Ninja Creami recipes on Tik Tok recently, and especially with the weather warming up, there’s no better time to give it a try.
You can really do so much with it – protein ice cream, sorbets, milkshakes, and even add fun mix-ins like Oreos or cookie dough (for those less healthy days). You can completely customize your flavors and ingredients, it’s incredible!
Design & DIY the Cutest Seasonal Decor
It’s so fun to switch up your home decor for each season and holiday! There are always so many fun projects and DIYs that I want to try. Combine your love for decorating and crafting by creating seasonals wreaths, stenciling a welcome mat, putting together new centerpieces for your kitchen counter or coffee table, or crafting fireplace garlands.

Build, Play & Create with Legos
There are so many cool Lego sets for adults! Lego floral arrangements, Cinderella’s castle, cute hotels and boutiques… There are soo many options to choose from. I remember growing up and helping my brother build different lego sets that he got for Christmas. One was a ferris wheel that actually worked!
Building with Legos is the perfect hobby to help you unwind, get off your phone and tap into your creativity!
Craft Beautifully Decorated Cakes
Have you ever watched a Tik Tok video of someone decorating a cake and wanted to give it a try? Now’s the time to try it out! Order a cake decorating kit like this one (it even comes with a cake spinner to make decorating SO much easier) and gather all your baking supplies – candies, frosting, food coloring, etc.
If baking the cake doesn’t interest you, just pick a plain vanilla cake up from the store and scrape off any extra frosting you don’t want. It’ll save you time and you can skip right to the fun part!

How to Choose the Right Hobby for You?
Hopefully, after reading through all of these fun and creative hobbies for women, you found a few that made you genuinely excited. That was my goal! But, if you’re still unsure which of these new hobbies to start with, I want you to take out a good ol’ piece of paper and write down 10 things you loved doing as a kid.
Think Back to Your Favorite Childhood Pastimes
What activities did you get lost in for hours? Maybe it was playing with Barbies (we spent full afternoons creating Barbie villages in our basement!), hosting tea parties, or playing dress up. These childhood memories and interests can actually help you brainstorm hobby ideas as an adult!
- If you liked playing with dolls, you might enjoy getting into miniatures or DIY dollhouse building.
- Did you spend hours playing “house” growing up? Trying new recipes, DIY home projects or gardening might be the best hobbies to try!
- If you loved making friendship bracelets, maybe jewelry making or embroidery could be up your ally.
Going back to some of these old childhood interests can help spark inspiration and help you find more hobbies for women that fill your cup!
Consider your Lifestyle & Personality
Your current lifestyle and personality are important factors to take into consideration. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- If most of your work or school day involves socializing and collaboration, would you prefer a more independent, calming hobby?
- If you work from home and spend most of your day alone, are you craving more social interaction and something that gets you out of the house?
- Do you sit a desk most of the day? Would you prefer a hobby that gets your body moving and takes you outdoors?
Take some time to think about what you’re currently missing in your life that a hobby could help fill. Maybe you need more relaxation, a creative outlet, more adventure and spontaneity, or a stronger sense of community. The right hobby can add so much fulfillment, joy and balance to your everyday life!
