2023 Denim Guide + Review: Best Abercrombie Jeans
If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I LOVE Abercrombie’s denim. It’s the best! I love all the different styles they offer, their inclusive sizing and affordability. Their jeans are such high quality and almost every pair is under $100 (even less if you grab them on sale)!
From the Tik Tok viral 90s Straight jeans to their Mom jeans, relaxed jeans and dad jeans, Abercrombie has a huge selection of on-trend denim styles and color variations, so you can find your perfect pair of jeans!

Regular vs. Curve Love Jeans
If you’ve browsed Abercrombie’s selection of jeans before, then you know you have a choice between Regular and Curve Love jeans. The Abercrombie Curve Love jeans add an additional two inches through the hips and thighs to minimize the dreaded waist gap.
If you have a smaller waist, but larger hips, thighs and butt, this style will give you the extra room you need to ensure the best fit. I own a few pairs of the Curve Love style, but since I have more of a straight body frame, I opt for the classic fit more often. The Curve Love pairs that I did buy, I ended up sizing down one so that they’d fit me better.

What Length Should I Buy?
Abercrombie offers five different lengths in their denim: extra short, short, regular length, long and extra long. I love that they offer so many length options because it’s so easy to find the perfect fit, no matter your height.
Length Chart based on Height:
- Extra Short: for you if you’re 5’0″ or below
- Short: if you’re between 5’0″ and 5’3″
- Regular: if you’re between between 5’4″ and 5’7″
- Long: if you’re between 5’8″ and 5’10”
- Extra Long: if you’re taller than 5’11”
It can be so hard to find jeans that fit your body perfectly in the waist, in the hips and thighs, and length-wise. So, I think it’s amazing that Abercrombie offers so much customization with their denim collection.

Let’s get right into it. Here is your 2023 Abercrombie Denim Style Guide. You’ll get an in-depth look at sizing, fit, length and comfort of six different Abercrombie jeans.
1. Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jeans
Abercrombie’s Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight are my favorite jeans! They’re the perfect mix of skinny and straight leg jeans. They’re fitted through the waist and thighs, but then loosen up a bit after the knee.
They feature Abercrombie’s highest rise (11.5″), which sits at your natural waist and they have great built-in stretch. I can wear these all day long and don’t feel uncomfortable! They also completely cover my belly button.
They’re cropped a bit at the ankle, which I think is SO flattering. They look good with any pair of shoes year round, whether you’re wearing sneakers, heels, mules or boots. Since they are cropped, if you’re taller than 5’7,” I would probably order the long length.

2. Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jeans
TikTok’s most popular style of Abercrombie denim. The Ultra High Rise 90s Straight-Leg jeans are a fan-favorite. They’re tighter at the waist and then loosen through the thigh into a full length leg.
They have the highest rise in, just like the Ankle Straight, but they don’t have as much built-in stretch. There’s definitely still some stretch, just not as much as the other style!
The 90s Straight comes in so many different washes and looks great on all body types. This is a jean that you can easily take from day to night and can be dressed up for work.

3. High Rise 90s Relaxed Jeans
The 90s Relaxed Jeans are similar to the 90s Straight, but they have a looser fit. They still feature a full length leg and are fitted through the waist, however they ease into a more relaxed, wide leg. There is definitely a bit of stretch to them too!
This pair sits 1″ lower than Abercrombie’s Ultra High-Rise Jeans (my personal fave), and hits right at or just below your belly button. I still like this rise, but I do prefer the 11.5″ rise so that the jeans fully cover my belly button.

I definitely think these are more of a trendy option! I’d wear these on the weekends, date night, going out with friends, concerts, etc. But, I don’t think I’d wear these to work. They just have more of that laid back, care-free look.

4. High Rise Mom Jeans
The Mom jeans are another personal favorite. I love the fit of these and they’re so comfortable! They’re made with Abercrombie’s All-Day Comfort Stretch fabric, so they’re easy to wear to work or running errands during the day.
They’re ankle length, so they’re a bit cropped, just like the Ankle Straight jeans. Again, I love this length because it’s really easy to style with any pair of shoes and it’s very flattering!
This style is more limited in color options than the other styles. They offer light, medium, dark and black wash, however there’s really only one wash option of each.

5. High Rise Loose Jeans
These are one of Abercrombie’s new styles of denim! They’re an early 2000s inspired jean with a high-rise waist and relaxed fit. They’re definitely more baggy than any of the other denim styles and they don’t have any stretch.

These are a great option if you prefer a more casual fit with a full length leg. They’d look cute with a pair of white sneakers and a crop top! Gen Z LOVES this style of denim on Tik Tok.

Do Abercrombie Jeans Go On Sale?
Abercrombie & Fitch typically has a Semi-Annual Denim that happens twice a year. Once at the beginning of the year, around February/March and then again towards the end of Summer in August.
They’re always running sales throughout the year too, so never pay full price for their jeans! During sale periods, there is usually an Influencer code that stacks on top of the sale price too. I recommend following Loverly Grey and Kathleen Post to stay updated on additional discount codes!
