Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I hope you all have an amazing day spent with family and friends, and with tons of yummy food! 🙂 Today my family is heading over to my grandma’s house (which we have done ever since I was a baby) where we eat lunch with my mom’s side of the family! I’m not a huge fan of Thanksgiving food, and neither are my siblings so my grandma decided to have brunch food this year! She’s making pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, french toast, sausage, and will have tons of fruit. I cannot wait! I think this might be the first year that I am actually excited about the food we’re having for Thanksgiving!
After we eat, we’ll usually play a couple card games and look through the Black Friday newspaper ads for fun!
After my grandmas, my boyfriend and I are heading to his family’s house for a Thanksgiving lunch, and then to my aunt’s house for dinner.
It’s pretty nice because most of my family lives within a 30 minute radius of each other so we never have to travel far.
At my aunt’s we always watch football, eat food, and play games. What’s funny is that when we have dinner, my cousins and I still eat at “the kids table” because there isn’t enough room at the grown up table (even though we are all technically grown ups!) My cousins and I laugh about this every year! Kids table for life haha. Comment if this is you!
After we eat, we always spend time talking and reminiscing about things we used to do when we were kids. Years ago, my cousins and I would make Video Stars everything Thanksgiving after we ate (let me know if anyone remembers those)! Now we’ll always watch the old videos and laugh. It’s so fun reminiscing on our childhood and the funny things we used to do! My favorite is listening to our parents tell stories about what their lives were like growing up, they usually have some very funny stories!
We usually stay at my aunt’s until 10pm just talking and playing games. When we get home, usually we head straight to the mall for some Black Friday Shopping!! I will share my finds in the next blog post.
I will leave you with 10 Things I’m Grateful for this year! I encourage you to reflect on what you’re grateful for and share those with your family! 🙂
