I absolutely love the entire month of December! I love decorating for Christmas, shopping for gifts to buy my family and friends, looking at Christmas lights, Ugly Christmas Sweater parties, gift exchanges, ice skating, drinking hot chocolate, spending time with loved ones, and the list could go on forever! With all the craziness that the holidays bring, it can be easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas- the birth of our Savior!
Today I wanted to take the time and share with you my favorite bible verses. These are great for when you need strength, when you feel alone, when you are struggling, when you are afraid, when you’re uncertain, when you are nervous, when you’re looking for comfort, or when you’re looking for hope. I find myself constantly going to these verses in particular because they are so empowering and comforting to me. Whenever I am in a situation that causes me great anxiety, I recite Isaiah 41:10 (my absolute favorite verse) in my head. I encourage you to memorize a few of your favorite bible verses so that you will always have them with you! Here are mine:
Isaiah 41:10
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Philippians 4:8
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who gives me strength.
1 Corinthians 2:9
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.
Isaiah 35:4
Say to those with fearful hearts,“Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 13:6
So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
James 5:16
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Please share your favorite bible verses in the comments below or on my latest instagram so we can all see them! It’s such an amazing feeling when you read a verse and it just speaks to you and what you’re going through. The other day I saw a bible verse on someone’s instagram story and after reading it, I thought wow this is exactly what I needed to hear! It’s incredible.
I hope everyone has an amazing week! And don’t forget the true meaning of this holiday season!
