Happy Easter Everyone!
Just wanted to share some of my favorite Easter traditions with all of you because Easter is one of my favorite holidays and I love getting to spend extra time with my family!
I’ll try to keep this post short and sweet! π
Good Friday Church Service
We started going to this service last year and really loved it so we decided to go again this year! The service starts off with all the lights off in the sanctuary, except for a few candles. Gradually throughout the service the candles are extinguished and the rest of the service remains in the dark until the very end when the Christ candle is brought back in. The service ends with everyone walking out in silence. It is a very emotional and somber service, but we all know Sunday is on its way!
Coloring Easter Eggs
Every Saturday before Easter my mom’s side of the family goes over to my grandma’s house to color eggs! I’m not the most creative with my designs, but it’s still so much fun! Here’s a few pictures from yesterday!
Easter Egg Hunt at my Grandma’s
My cousins on my mom’s side are a lot younger than me and my siblings, so we don’t get to participate in the egg hunt anymore, but we are now in charge of hiding all the eggs. One of my sisters is 10 so she still does it and it’s so funny watching all the kids run around the house trying to find the most eggs! It gets pretty crazy!
Easter Morning at my parent’s house
I love waking up in the morning and running downstairs with my siblings to find our Easter baskets and look for Easter eggs! Now that my siblings and I are all older it gets really competitive and we are nearly knocking each other over to find the most eggs. I love that we still do this even though we’re getting older!
Once everyone has found their basket we sit in the kitchen counting our eggs, going through our baskets and eating breakfast before we start getting ready for church.
Easter Sunday Church Service
The service on Easter is probably one of my favorite ones! I love when every single pew in the church is full with Jesus followers! It is such an amazing feeling when you look around and see the community of Christians all around you. But, church on Easter Sunday is always so crowded that if you donβt get their early enough you end up sitting in the atrium, which is where we sit every year!Β
What I love most about this service is hearing the Easter message and singing all the songs. The songs are sooo good!
Easter Lunch at our house
After church, we drive back to my parent’s house because my family hosts Easter every year! I’ts fun because both my dad and mom’s families come!
This year it’s supposed to be mid 70’s temperature wise, so we plan on eating outside and playing some backyard games!
Hope everyone has an amazing Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Savior! What traditions does your family do?
XO
