Now, if you’ve been following me for a while, it probably comes as no surprise that I love learning new health and wellness tips! I just enjoy finding little ways to improve my well being that donβt require a ton of time.
I even keep a notebook thatβs filled with all the healthy living tips that I learn through podcasts, YouTube videos, and books so that I donβt forget them! In there, I have work out moves, types of workouts, healthy snack ideas, how to get your best nights sleep, and basically anything else βhealthyβ living related.
Keeping a journal or Google Doc filled with life tips and healthy living hacks is a great way to remember things you may otherwise forget. It comes in handy all the time, so if you don’t have one yet, I highly suggest it! Anyway, today I thought I’d take the time to share a few of the best healthy lifestyle hacks that Iβve picked up over the years!
These are just little things that you can easily incorporate into your everyday routine that will help you lead a healthier life!
1. Carry a reusable water bottle around with you
It is crazy how much much more water you will drink throughout the day when you do this. If you have a water bottle next to you at all times you will constantly see yourself reaching for it. Try it out for a week and see how much more water you drink! Here are a few of my favorites.
2. Take 5 minutes to stretch in the morning and evening
Taking a few minutes every morning and night to focus on your stretching and breathing will make all the difference. Within a month of doing this, you will see improvements in your posture, flexibility and range of motion. Stretching is also a great stress reliever, which is why I like to start and end my day with a few minutes of stretching!
3. Go for a walk every night
There are so many health benefits to walking daily! Walking is also such a great way to stay active throughout the day. If you work full time and need some more ideas on how to stay healthy and keep your body moving during the work day, click here!
4. Write down 3 things you’re grateful for and your top 3 priorities every morning!
As soon as you wake up, after you open your blinds and get ready, get out your planner or a notebook and write down three things that you’re grateful for along with your top three priorities for the day.
Having a gratitude list will help you start your morning in a positive head space and allow you to focus on what really matters in life. Similarly, writing down your top three priorities for your day will allow you to narrow down your focus to the three most important items that you need to get done!

5. Carve out 30 minutes of your day for ME time!
Maybe you use this time to read a book or listen to a podcast or an audio book. You could journal or take a bath.. Anything that you love to do, with absolutely no social media distractions!
6. Take the stairs instead of the elevator
One of the easiest changes you can make! It’s such a simple way to burn some extra calories and it really doesn’t require any extra time on your part. Once you get into the habit of taking the stairs, it becomes so much easier, trust me!
7. Donβt use your phone or laptop 20 minutes before you go to sleep
This can be hard because we’re all so connected to social media. But, you will sleep so much better if you take a few minute to unwind and log off. Being on your phone right before you fall asleep will keep your mind active and alert, which is not what you want! Not to mention, the blue light exposure right before bed has negative impacts on your sleep too.
8. Take off your makeup every night!
Before you go to bed, every night, make sure you wash your face and take off all your makeup. If you don’t, the makeup can clog your pores, cause breakouts, fine lines, wrinkles and premature aging. To keep your skin looking plump, fresh and healthy looking, make sure you always remove all your makeup, especially any thick foundations!
I like to use these reusable makeup pads. All you need is water and the pad removes all of your makeup! It’s incredible. The Makeup Eraser also does the same job.
9. Choose your outfit and pack your lunch the night before
Picking out your outfit and packing your lunch for the next day before you go to bed at night is a total game changer. You will reduce so much stress in the morning and you won’t feel rushed or like you’re running behind.
10. Get outside!
Even if itβs just for 10 minutes. Take a break and get some fresh air every single day. Stepping outside is so good for the soul and it gives you a little mental break. I always find that when I’m feeling stressed or anxious, getting outside into the sunshine always helps. But make sure you don’t forget sunscreen!
11. Avoid eating large meals 2-3 hours before you go to sleep
I try to aim for 8pm to give my body some time to digest and process my last meal before I go to bed!
12. Wake up as soon as your alarm goes off
Donβt hit snooze! Hitting snooze multiple times before actually getting up is what’s making you feel groggy and more tired. If you’re someone that loves to sneak in those extra few minutes of sleep, try setting your alarm for the time you actually need to wake up at.
13. Get up and walk around at least once every hour
If you sit at a desk most of the day, make sure you are getting up and moving around at least once every hour of the day! This can be hard to do if most of your day is spent on the computer or working at the office, but getting up and moving for just a few minutes is crucial. If you are someone that always forgets to stand and move around, it helps to set an alarm on your phone as a reminder!
14. Ten minute speed clean every day
Set a timer and clean up as much as you can. I do this every single night and it makes all the difference. Trust me! It’ll help keep your home tidy at all times! Clean house equals clear mind π If you’re in the cleaning mood, read my post Organize Your Life, for 20 things to de-clutter right now for an insanely clean and organized home.
15. Five minute abs every day
Over the course of a month you will see an increase in your overall core strength! Click here and here for two of my favorite ab workouts. Want more home workout ideas? Read my post on the best Toning, Sculpting and Fat-Burning Workouts you’ll Love!
Try incorporating a few of these into your daily routine and see how you feel! Leading a healthier lifestyle doesn’t have to be hard. These are all SUPER simple and donβt require tons of time, so thereβs no excuse why you canβt add a couple into your routine!
The one habit I have the most trouble with is waking up as soon as my alarm goes off! Itβs so hard not to hit snooze 4 more times. Iβm getting better at it though!
Which habits do you think will be the hardest for you to do daily!?
