22 Things I Learned at 22!

Since my 22nd birthday was exactly two months ago, I thought it would be fun to reflect on 22 things that I’ve learned about life so far. It’s crazy to me that I’m already 22 years old, have graduated college, and have been working a full-time job for over a month now! I still feel like I’m 19 haha.

As I get older, it feels like time goes by even faster. I am still in shock that come September, I won’t be buying any new school supplies or textbooks! As much as I liked college, I love not having to spend my nights doing homework or studying for an exam. I can’t tell you how great it is to have all my nights free! I have time to actually read, work out, see friends, etc. It’s great! 🙂

So with that, I hope you enjoy reading some of the life lessons I’ve learned over the years! Let me know in the comments what you have learned in life so far!

 1. People are going to judge you no matter what you do. Do what makes you the happiest.
2. Take personal days. Sometimes it’s good to take the day off to give your mind and body a rest.
3. Practice self-care. It’s so important to find time to reflect on your life, journal, take a bubble bath, go on a walk, read a book, do yoga, whatever makes you feel good!
4. Find a work out that you actually enjoy! There are so many benefits to exercising regularly, and finding a work out that doesn’t feel like you’re actually “working out” is even better.
5. Go outside. Explore the world! Spend your time doing new things that get you out of your comfort zone.
6. Pray everyday! I pray all the time; when I’m walking, when I’m driving, when I wake up or go to bed, when I’m eating, etc.
7. Read.
8. Journal! I finally got into writing every day and I love it. It helps you visualize your thoughts and goals.
9. Develop a good morning routine that will set you up for a productive day.
10. Smile! It will make a good impression of you at work, school, events, etc.
11. Find ways to cope with anxiety or stress. It’s important to know what causes your anxiety and ways to reduce it.
12. Call your family or visit them as much as you can! I call my mom every day and am constantly texting my family. I miss the days when we were all at home together all the time.
13. Love with all your heart. It’s such an amazing feeling.
14. Find a hobby that you truly enjoy that isn’t watching Netflix.
15. Don’t be afraid to fail. Nobody’s perfect; everyone fails. Never give up on something that means a lot to you.
16. Make a vision board. Display all your goals and dreams on it. This will help you achieve them.
17. Trust in God with all your heart and know that you are never alone 🙂 He will always be there for you.Isaiah 41:10 is one of my favorite bible verses as it says, “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
18. Everything works itself out. Sometimes it may feel like the world is ending; it’s not.
19. Always be open to more friends.
20. Be kind to people. Nobody knows what someone else is going through.
21. Learn how to budget and save! It’s so important, especially right after graduating college.
22. Don’t take anything for granted. Everything is a gift; live every day with an open heart.

Hope you enjoyed reading!!
