I turn 24 today! Crazy.. I still feel 21! It’s funny because know I say this every year, but it’s true! I definitely don’t feel 24.
If you’ve been reading my blog since the beginning, you know I like to do an annual birthday post. I like to make these more personal so you can get to know me and I can share more about my life. I wanted to do something different this year, so I’m going to share 24 of my favorite memories! At first it was hard for me to come up with the 24 BEST memories in my life because I felt like they had to be the absolute greatest moments I’ve experienced. I thought the greatest memories I had would be travelling and doing extravagant things.
But when I started to think about it, most of my favorite memories are just every day things with the people I love most.
It really wasn’t about the experience or what I did, but WHO I was with that made it so special.
So with that, here are 24 of my favorite memories, in no particular order! Enjoy 🙂
1. Running my first 5k with my boyfriend! We did the Bubble Run last year and it was so fun to do it together.
2. Buying my Nissan Rogue. Honestly, this is my dream car! Ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted a Pearl white crossover.
3. Going to the Crossfit Games. Vilas and I have been watching the Crossfit games on TV for years, so to go and see them in person was incredible.
4. Jonas Brothers Concert! Literally THE best concert I’ve been to.
5. Playing softball on the Heat the summer before my senior year of high school. This will always be one of my favorite summers. My two best friends and I were all on the same team and we hung out every single day.
6. Weekend in Chicago with Vilas. This was very recent! We went to Chicago in February, as an Anniversary surprise. Both of us had never gone to Chicago together and it was the most amazing weekend ever. We took photos by the Bean, went to the Shedd Aquarium, went ice skating at Millennium Park and had deep dish pizza! Read more about our weekend trip here.
7. Bon Ton Internship. This was the summer after my junior year of college. I had worked for Bon Ton (Boston Store) as a Sales Associate and got the chance to intern for them that summer. All the interns were housed in UW Milwaukee dorms and it was just fun being downtown and working there.
8. Crowd Surfing at Summerfest a few years ago. Honestly, not sure how this even happened, but I love that it was such a spur of the moment thing!
9. Our Colorado Vacation! I can’t even choose a specific memory, the whole trip was so amazing. We went rock climbing on an actual mountain, went hiking in Boulder and Estes Park, road bikes around Longmont, went to the Denver Botanical Gardens and so much more! 10. The Magic House in St. Louis. This was a Children’s Museum we went to when I was in Elementary school, but this memory still sticks in my head because it was sooo cool! There was a grocery store to shop at, a huge house to play in, a pretend restaurant and so many interactive things for us to do.
11. Atving in South Dakota. Our South Dakota vacation in 2016 was one of my favorites.. probably close behind Colorado. We did so many outdoor things, one of them being ATVing. The views were awesome!
12. The day Vilas and I started dating! This is another memory that’s so clear in my head and I remember the exact day.
13. Going to State for softball my senior year of high school. We didn’t end up winning, but it was a super awesome experience!
14. Prom Junior and Senior year. I absolutely loved both my junior and senior year prom, I can’t decide which one I liked more. Definitely miss those days of getting dressed up for dances and getting my hair done.
15. Going to Indiana for my sister’s National Softball Tournament. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting Indiana to be that fun! But she had a super fun team and my two best friends had sisters on the team, so we all hung out together!
16. Our annual trip to Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in WI Dells. We used to go every summer with our cousins when we were kids to stay overnight and go swimming and go-karting.
17. Blasting Hannah Montana music on the 4th of July on our way to watch the New Berlin fireworks with my sister and our friends!
18. Canoeing in Ohio. This was eventful haha! My mom lost her shoe and my dad had to jump in the water to get it, our canoe almost tipped.. but looking back it was so much fun.
19. My 22nd birthday. This was my golden birthday and everything about this day was perfect! We went to the zoo, ate at Olive Garden for dinner, and celebrated with my family. So simple but one of my favorite times 🙂
20. Family Game Nights! It’s hard to pick a specific game night because they’re all so fun. But, a few weeks ago for my brother’s and mom’s birthday we played The Game of Things and we couldn’t stop laughing. It felt good to have the entire family home together.
21. Swimming at this apartment pool that my uncle used to live at. So many good memories here.
22. Olive Garden dinners! Literally every time I’ve gone to Olive Garden is my favorite. Obviously, I really like Olive Garden haha.
23. Shopping at Boston Store with my mom. I miss Boston Store so much. The deals were always insanely good and the shoes were so cute.
24. Just recently, Vilas and I celebrated my 24th birthday on Wednesday night because I’m back home for my actual birthday. We picked up food from Graze and had a picnic dinner by the lake. We went back to our apartment opened presents and watched The Office. Perfect start to my birthday weekend!
