Book Review- The Marriage Lie

The Marriage Lie is hands down one of the BEST books that I’ve read in a while!! I finished it in less than two days! I just couldn’t put it down. I would read it on my way to work, on my lunch break, walking back to my apartment; honestly any free time I got, I would read it. It’s one of those where you just need to know what happens next.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked. I had read the basic plot of the story beforehand, but I didn’t know how quickly all of it would start to unravel. You’ll be absolutely shocked at how much happens within the first ten pages.

From chapter 1, we find out that Iris and her husband, Will, of 7 years have lived an extremely happy and comfortable life in Atlanta. They even just started trying to have their first baby! Everything in their lives so far has been nothing short of perfect, until the morning Iris receives news of a horrific plane crash. All of the passengers on the flight headed from Atlanta to Seattle are dead, including her husband. However, Will was supposed to be on a flight to Orlando for a work conference.

Iris is in complete disbelief and is absolutely certain this has to be a misunderstanding. Why would Will board a plane going to Seattle? And more importantly, why would he lie about it?

And if he lied about this, what else was he keeping from her? More than anything, she wants to uncover the truth.

As Iris begins to investigate and dig deeper into Will’s past, she begins to question if she ever really knew her husband.  She finds a plethora of lies that are so unsettling, she can’t begin to wrap her head around them. Was her whole marriage a lie? Does she really not know her own husband?
So many questions loom in Iris’s head and she will not be satisfied until she finds some answers.

I am telling you, this book will keep you guessing until the very end. It was such an easy read and will have you up late into the night trying to find the answers Iris is looking for. While reading, you can almost physically feel the pain, grief, and confusion that Iris feels as she unfolds the truth.

I highly recommend this book for anyone that loves a good psychological thriller!! You won’t be able to put it down! If you want to check the book out for yourself you can buy it here!

Let me know what books you are loving right now! I am always on the look out for more good-reads!
