My Morning Skincare Routine Using All Nontoxic Products!

I am so excited to finally share my morning skincare routine with you all! This post has been long overdue! For years, I didn’t have a specific skincare routine that I stuck to consistently. I’d sometimes use a moisturizer in the morning and a cleanser at night, but that was about it.

I didn’t see the importance of a consistent skincare routine until this year. This past year, I really started taking more of an interest in my physical and mental-well being. I started eating better, working out consistently, creating healthy habits and caring for my skin! Taking care of your skin while your young is so so so important. It is so much easier to prevent skin problems versus trying to fix them when you’re older.

Now, I make sure I never forget to take off my makeup at night, I wash my face daily, I use sunscreen religiously and always make time for my skincare routine!

It’s taken me a few months to find products that I really like and ones that actually work for my skin. But, with trial and error I have found an amazing non-toxic and effective morning skincare routine that I love!

You all know how picky I am about the products I use on my skin so the ones I will be sharing below are truly life-changing.

Keep reading for all the details on the products I use in my morning skincare routine!

Step 1: Cleanser

The first step in my skincare routine is to cleanse my face. I do this to get all the extra dirt off before I add any products to my skin. I have two go-to cleansers that I use depending on the day. First is my Pixi Skintreats Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser and omg you guys… this stuff is amazing! This is by far one of my favorite cleansers I’ve ever used. One because it smells amazing and two because you don’t have to wash it off!

The bottle has a press-down pump, so all you have to do is grab a reusable cotton pad, press it onto the pump, and rub it on your face! It’s that easy. I love this cleanser for days that I’m running late in the morning, late nights when I don’t want to wash my face, and the days when I’m just too lazy to do my whole skincare routine. It’s a total lifesaver and makes cleansing your face so simple.

The second cleanser I use is Bioclarity’s Cleanse with Cucumber, Green Tea and Chamomile. This product is a part of Bioclarity’s Essentials collection which contains a total of 3 skincare products. I use it when I have more time in the morning to dedicate to my skincare routine. This cleanser is plant-based and helps even out your skin tone and reduce redness. I have somewhat sensitive skin so I like my cleanser to be very gentle and soothing.

Step 2: Toner

I don’t use a toner every single morning, probably 2-3 times a week and the one I use is Beautycounter’s Countercontrol Instant Matte Toner. For those of you who might be confused on what a toner actually does and when to use it, a toner helps remove extra dirt on your skin that your cleanser didn’t get and helps to balance out your skin’s pH levels.

If you have acne-prone or oily skin or wear a lot of makeup I definitely recommend trying a toner. It’s just an additional step that really makes sure you got all the dirt and makeup off your face!

I tend to use a toner more in the evening, for my nighttime skincare routine because I like to make sure I’m getting all the makeup off my face before I go to bed.

Step 3: Bioclarity Restore Gel

This is the second product in Bioclarity’s Essentials Collection and honestly it’s probably my favorite skincare product I own. I press one pump onto my hand and massage it into my skin until its fully absorbed. The product comes out of the bottle as a dark green gel, which at first I thought was odd, but it blends right into your skin after you rub it in. It doesn’t actually make your skin green haha!

The secret ingredient in it is Floralux! Floralux is made from Chlorophyll and it reduces redness, evens skin tone, promotes collagen health and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles leaving you with healthy and youthful looking skin πŸ™‚

Step 4: Serum

I either use Bioclarity’s Restore or a serum depending on the day. If I wake up and my face has a lot of redness, I’ll use the Restore, but if not I’ll switch off and use a serum. Sometimes I’ll use both, but if I don’t have a lot of time in the morning, I’ll use either one or the other because I feel like they are pretty similar.

Before I established a solid skincare routine, I had no idea what a serum was compared to a moisturizer and why you would use it. So I’ll explain why you should use one below!

A serum is filled with tons of great powerful ingredients that are designed to target specific skin problems, such as redness, wrinkles etc. You apply it after you cleanse your face, but before you moisturize because it absorbs quickly and it allows all the active ingredients to penetrate deep into your skin.

For me, I love Beautycounter’s Intense Moisture Serum. It has two forms of hyaluronic acid in it, which is super hydrating and great for age-prevention and it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and improves the skin’s radiance. It’s also contains Vitamin C and E, which helps energize and brighten my skin.

Step 5: Moisturizer

The last (all-over) facial product I use is moisturizer, which basically locks in all the product I just put on my face. Moisturizers are thicker than a serum and take longer to absorb (hence why you apply them after your serum). Moisturizers are truly meant to hydrate and moisturize your skin. They aren’t necessarily for targeting specific skin concerns like wrinkles or sun damage. That’s where your serum comes in!

I have two different moisturizers that I use depending on the day: Bioclarity’s Hydrate moisturizer and Beautycounter’s Adaptive Moisture Lotion

Beautycounter’s lotion is amazing. I use one pump of it and massage it into my face, making sure to get my neck too. It’s very lightweight and smells heavenly! One of the cool things about this moisturizer is it actually adjusts hydration levels throughout the day depending on what your skin needs. It’s on the pricier side but definitely worth the money because it’ll last you a while.

Bioclarity’s Hydrate is also a favorite of mine because just like the Restore gel, this moisturizer has Floralux in it which helps to reduce redness and even out skin tone! It’s lightweight, very breathable and makes my skin super smooth.

Step 6: Eye Cream

I use Beautycounter’s Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream daily! This is the sole eye cream I use because I love it so much. It’s extremely hydrating and does a great job at reducing fine lines and shadows around my eyes. I use about half a pump of it because a little goes a LONG way. I dab the product very lightly with my ring finger around my eye area. The ring finger has the lightest touch and doesn’t press too hard or pull on your eye area, which could cause wrinkles.

Step 7: Chapstick

Last step in my everyday skincare routine… chapstick. My lips are always dry, so lip balm is the most important step. Two of my favorites that I use every single morning are First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Lip Therapy and Moroccan Magic’s Peppermint Eucalyptus. I use Moroccan Magic as my every day go to lip balm and the Ultra Repair Lip Therapy when my lips are super dry and cracked. This stuff works wonders and doesn’t burn my lips at all, like some chapsticks do.

And that’s it! Like I said before, I don’t use all of these products every single day. But, I switch off depending on how my skin’s feeling and how much time I have in the morning. During the week, my routine is more condensed and when I have more time on the weekends I go through my full routine!

After I apply all of my skincare products, I let my face dry before applying any makeup! During this time, I’ll go get dressed, brush my teeth and let all the facial products absorb into my skin before applying makeup.

Last piece of advice, although it’s important to have a good (consistent) skincare routine, there are also a variety of other factors that may affect how your skin looks and feels besides the products you use.

For beautiful and glowing skin make sure you’re eating healthy, balanced meals, getting regular exercise, using sunscreen daily and year round, getting 8 hours of sleep, and managing your stress levels!

Hi Cassie, honestly you explained everything so detailed. Thanks to you I now know that serum is for getting the extra dirts off my face, I always thought that it was just another face oil that was overrated. Now I know better. Thank you for the information.
